Children Learning Reading Review- Using Phonemics to Teach Reading

Did you know that 67% of 4th grade students in the U.S. cannot read at a proficient level? It’s true. Even more than that, thousands of students fall through the cracks every year and fall even further behind in their reading levels. Schools try to address the problem, but most don’t seem to be making headway. This is because most have neglected two fundamental skills in reading: phonics and phonemic awareness. In this Children Learning Reading Review, I will discuss how this program uses phonics and phonemic awareness to teach your child to read at home before they go to school and put an end to these statistics.

Who Is It For: Parents that want to give their child a better chance at school by teaching them to read at home

Product Overview

Children Learning Reading was created out of father’s desire to teach his children how to read at home. After watching his child fail with a product that focuses on sight word memorization, he realized that this was not the place to begin teaching a child to read. So, he conducted research and created this program based upon his research.

The program focuses on phonics and phonemic awareness. Phonics is understanding how the letters of the written alphabet represent the sounds made when saying the letters. On the other hand, phonemic awareness is recognizing the 44 different sounds in the English language and how they work together, blending, to make words.

So, Children Learning Reading starts with the alphabet and the sounds of letters. It then builds up to how these sounds work together to make words. Instead of focusing on words to memorize, it works with only 44 sounds that children need to learn. Through the program, they learn how to blend these together to make new words. The end result is your child reading before they enter school. Some users even report their children reading as early as age 2!
